Guestroom - The Heritage Hotel

There is nothing quite like the electric energy of a New York City Game Day. Whether you are traveling with a youth sports team, a rowdy group of college friends, or a corporate squad on a retreat, the biggest challenge is always the same: The Logistics.

In a city of 8 million people, moving a group from a hotel to a stadium can feel like a contact sport. But here is the winning play: Staying at The Heritage Hotel New York City puts you at the absolute center of the transit map.

Located at 18 W 25th Street, we serve as your Central Hub for every major sports venue in the tri-state area. Here is how to get your group to the bleachers without losing your sanity.

1. Madison Square Garden (The World's Most Famous Arena)

Distance: 8-minute walk or 1 stop on the subway.

Home of: NY Knicks (NBA), NY Rangers (NHL).

You don't even need a MetroCard for this one. MSG is located directly above Penn Station at 33rd Street and 7th Avenue.

  • The Move: Walk just a few blocks north from our hotel. It is the easiest stadium commute in the city.
  • Pro-Tip: Since you're so close, skip the expensive stadium nachos. Grab a pre-game meal at one of the legendary dining spots near our hotel and walk over just before tip-off.

2. Yankee Stadium (The Bronx)

Transit Time: ~30 minutes.

Home of: NY Yankees (MLB), NYCFC (MLS).

Getting to the Bronx is a breeze from our Chelsea location.

  • The Route: Walk 7 minutes to the 23rd St Station (Park Ave South) and hop on the Uptown 6 Train. Transfer at Grand Central to the 4 Train, which lets you off right at the stadium gates.
  • Group Strategy: Our unique room configurations allow teams to stay together on the same floor, making it easy to do a headcount in the lobby before heading to the subway.

3. Citi Field & Billie Jean King Tennis Center (Queens)

Transit Time: ~40 minutes.

Home of: NY Mets (MLB), US Open Tennis.

Headed to see the Mets or the world’s best tennis players? You’re looking for the 7 Train.

  • The Route: Take the F or M train from 23rd St (a 4-minute walk from us) uptown to Bryant Park, then transfer to the 7 Train toward Flushing.
  • Pragmatic Hack: The 7 Train is elevated for much of the ride, offering your group a free tour of the Queens skyline.

4. MetLife Stadium (New Jersey)

Transit Time: ~45 minutes.

Home of: NY Giants (NFL), NY Jets (NFL).

Don't let the New Jersey address scare you. It’s actually faster to get to MetLife from our hotel than from many parts of Upper Manhattan.

  • The Route: Walk 8 minutes to Penn Station. From there, take the NJ Transit Meadowlands Rail Link directly to the stadium.
  • The Benefit: No traffic, no expensive group bus rentals, and you can be back in your cozy guestroom less than an hour after the final whistle.

The Group MVP Playbook

  1. OMNY is Your Friend: Don't wait in line to buy 15 separate MetroCards. Everyone in your group can simply tap their phone or contactless card at the turnstile.
  2. Fuel Up First: Groups love our neighborhood because it's packed with high-capacity eateries. Check our Dining Guide for spots that can handle a team of twelve without a reservation.
  3. Book Direct for Group Blocks: If you are booking 5+ rooms, don't use a travel site. Use our Direct Reservation Portal or contact us directly to ensure your rooms are clustered together.

Want to do more than just watch the game? Our front desk can help you coordinate Add-on experiences, like stadium tours or nearby brewery visits, to make your group trip truly legendary.
